Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry – FAGD

Dr. Patton is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), an organization of general dentists all over the country who are dedicated to professional development and self-improvement through continuing education. In order to maintain a membership in the AGD, each dental professional must remain current with state-of-the-art technology, procedures and materials in dentistry in order to deliver quality treatments to his or her patients.

A dentist who has obtained a Fellowship Award in the AGD is referred to as a “Fellow,” which means he or she has been recognized by his or her colleagues as a leader and a prime example of a dentist who actively pursues and applies continuing education to his or her daily patient care. In order to earn a Fellowship Award, Dr. Patton has completed more than the minimum of 500 continuing education credits and successfully passed a comprehensive 400-question examination. Dr. Patton also had to be an active member of the AGD for a consecutive five years.

More than 10,000 members of the AGD have obtained a Fellowship status. This award symbolizes the professional responsibility of general dentists to remain current in the field of dentistry and continue to learn new techniques and procedures for their patients.
